Tim Stephenson

Tim Stephenson, 72, passed away June 20, 2018, at Riverwood Hospital in Aitkin.

Tim was born in Redlands, Calif., June 14, 1946. Tim moved from Southern California to the Twin Cities, where he graduated from Mounds View High School in Arden Hills. After high school, Tim honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force, some of that time being spent in Vietnam. Tim loved to tell a joke or sing you a tune and he was great at both! Tim also enjoyed riding his four-wheeler in the woods of Northern Minnesota. He loved to go riding with his family and his dog, Rebel. For the last 11 years, Tim was an active member of the McGregor AA. He used to say that July 5 was his “rebirthday.” Tim was a member at American Legion Post 23 in McGregor.

Tim will be greatly missed by so many, including those he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ginger; his sons, Ryan (Holly) Stephenson, Newfolden; Chris (Andrea) Stephenson, Hutchinson; Terrance (Amanda) Stephernson, Minot, N.D.; and Branden (Amber) Stephenson, Minot, N.D.; his sisters, Zora (Boots) Varholdt, McGregor; Neva (Leland) Coyle, Redlands, Calif.; brother, Dan (Sandy) Stephenson, Bismarck, N.D.; along with his 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Francis Stephenson; his sister, Opal; and his brother-in-law, Leland Coyle.

The family will be having a celebration of life for Tim from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the McGregor VFW. If you knew Tim, please come and share your stories.

Burial will take place at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
