Lawrence (Larry) T. Dawson was born to parents Glen and Marilyn Dawson, on October 2, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He graduated from Mounds View High school in 1964 and served in the Air Force for 24 years. During his time in the service, he enjoyed working on several Asian bases and had several deployments to the Middle East before retiring at Eglin AFB in 1994. He was a faithful Christian who loved Jesus with all his heart and wanted others to know Him as their Savior as well. Larry played the banjo and guitar both for church services and for his own personal enjoyment.  His daughter remembers dancing around the living room to his music as a young girl. 

Larry, 74, of Niceville, Florida passed away at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Fort Walton Beach Florida on Saturday, August 7, 2021, after a 7- year long fight with Multiple Myeloma.

Larry is survived by his children, Esther (Paul) and Stephen (Anna).  His wife, Pat.  His brother, Glen (Kirsten), nephews Glen L. and Grant (Shalanah).  His youngest brother, Carl and nephew Clint (Julie) children Owen, Graham and Ellie June.

Larry was preceded in death by both his parents and his first wife Sylvia Dawson.

Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors of Emerald Coast Cancer Center as well as home health nurse Andrea Young of Suncrest Omni for their care and expertise.

The memorial service was held at 2:00 pm Sunday August 22, 2021, at Rocky Bayou Baptist Church in Niceville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations were sent to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or Our Daily Bread Ministries.
